  6. until Edward IV, having become king,
  7. confirmed his position by a victory at Towton
  8. 29 Mar 1461. 1470 Warwick (who had helped
  9. Edward to the throne) allied instead with
  10. Henry VI's widow, Margaret of Anjou, but was
  11. defeated by Edward at Barnet 14 Apr and by
  12. Margaret at Tewkesbury 4 May. 1485 Yorkist
  13. regime ended with the defeat of Richard III
  14. by the future Henry VII at Bosworth 22 Aug.

  16. novelist Walter Scott.
